A STORY OF GOD'S POWER AND GRACE: A MOTHER AND HER LIFELESS BABY BROUGHT TO A SIMPLE-CHURCH MEETING IN KENYA!

Dear BFK supporters,

Awhile back, I received this letter from Jimmy in my response to the question of Bibles for Kenya. Almost as an aside, he talked about this amazing event that took place in one of their meetings when a heartbroken lady brought a baby in her arms that had grown cold and lifeless due to a Malaria convulsion. When I showed this to my daughter Kamryn, she wanted to know if the lady, whose name was Ann, knew Jimmy or the people in the fellowship. Jimmy then followed this letter with another letter adding more details. When I read this second letter, I wept at the goodness of God. This is Jimmy's first report of God's amazing grace, power, presence and mercy in this simple meeting.

Brother Clark,

...
The Spirit of God was speaking through you with regards to Bibles for the precious poor in Africa. While coming home today I passed by a shop in town called Scripture Union Shop, where they always have very good deals on Bibles. I found out that they are having a great offer on a Swahili Bible, complete with elaboration to phrases and brief explanation to words and names and places, with a Bible concordance and maps. They are offering this at only 600 shillings ($7.5) if one bought more than 10 copies. I am ready to go to other countries in Africa (I mentioned this in the last email), and there’s a brother known as Henry Barasa, an evangelist in the Body of Christ that I shall be going with. Among other needs, we shall need Bibles. Brother, I am speaking with a lot of faith because I know the Lord is working out things for us. I know you’re among the conduits He’s ready to use. Halleluiah!

I am going to attach a photo of me and Brother Tom Barasa. In this picture, a woman comes in one house fellowship with a baby who has convulsed and gone cold. She lops the child on the table and runs outside, rolling on the ground in the disgust and indignation of a mother who has just lost her child. Everybody is confused (me more). But in the strength of the Lord I went, Brother Clerk, and with shaking hands took up the baby girl from the dry table. And instead of praying, I started worshipping God, joined by everybody who was in that house. The Lord healed the baby and five people who saw it become followers of Jesus Christ that evening. They have never looked back, we plan to baptise them soon (in Kangemi there are no ponds or swilling pools or running rivers. We have to organize and go far to get good water for baptism).

More later, dear lost and finally found treasure.

Fellow labourer,
Jim Nduruchi.

Letter two:

Brother Clark,

Let me quickly settle Kamryn’s concerns about the little baby who was restored from hands of death that Sunday evening. No, I did not know the mother, father or the child prior to this meeting. The occupants of this house did not know them well neither. We had gone to this couple’s house for the breaking of bread that Sunday evening, on the 16th Jan 2011.

This lady called Ann (also appearing in the other two photos with a maroon top, worshipping with tears last Sunday) heard the sound of worship a block away as her child’s condition deteriorated under malaria. The baby was having fever, shivering and sweating profusely. She had taken her to a little private clinic that morning but proper treatment was not given. Being a Sunday she would have to wait until the following day (17th Jan 2011) when public hospitals that offer malaria treatment would be opened.

Suddenly, the baby convulses and stops breathing! And as these developments take place, she can hear the sound of worship coming from a house just two blocks away. She did not need to know the occupants of that house. Neither did she know the worshipers there. According to her testimony, only knowing that Christ was in that meeting and He’s able to heal even the dead was enough. She took a child who had gone cold, literary dead, and brought him before the Lord who was being worshipped. She did not even put the baby down gently; she actually dropped her on the table and ran outside, fell on the ground and started rolling, kicking and screaming. The Holy Spirit turned that moment of confusion into a moment of faith. I stepped out in faith and by faith and worshipped the baby into the able hands of the healing LORD.

Everybody joined in worship and it went wild for about 15 minutes. Then there was instant healing to the child and her little hands suddenly waved through the air in worship, I believe. Her eyes were opened. Temperatures were normal. Shivering was no more. The baby was totally healed and looked as if she had been sleeping peacefully.  Ann could not believe it. She never took her baby to hospital the following day. Ann and her husband and five people came to the Lord that evening after seeing what the Lord had done. They left their institutional churches and are now having good times in the presence of the Father with us, without mediums. All glory belongs to the Lord, who lives among men and within men, to perform manifold works. Halleluiah to the Lamb of God!

In His Vineyard,

Jimmy
